Welcome to the Winchester Model 12 page. These stocks are sold finished as well as unfinished, checkered or uncheckered. The unfinished stocks are inletted far beyond what you would get with the more common 90% inletted stock. These are much closer to 99% inletted and shaped. Really all you have to do is a little sanding tape off the checkering and finish to your desired result! The pictures of the unfinished stocks below speak for themselves. The standard grade walnut with checkering is a particularly economical option to bring that old gun back from the grave.
To the left is a field style stock. It is pictured with square panel checkering. The stock pictured is unfinished with checkering made out of black walnut. Once finish is applied it will darken considerably.

To the left is the monte carlo style stock. It is pictured unfinished with "B" style checkering made from black walnut. Once finish is applied it will darken considerably.

To the left is an English style stock. It is pictured unfinished with diamond style checkering made from black walnut. In this photo it also has a winchester reproduction pad that is an option for all our Winchester Model 12 stocks.

To the left is an example of the winchester model 12 forearm With "B" checkering. It is about 9.5 inchs overall length and can come with this "B" style checkering as well as the two styles of checkering pictured below.. And of course it can be ordered without checkering as well.

Here is a close up of the checkering. Its hard to get a good picture of the checkering because you have to get the light to catch it just right to show the diamonds.
